1. GTM is an umbrella mission which brings all plantation activities taken up in the state under common platform.
2. It covers different land category such as Farm lands, Coastal areas, Govt lands, Private lands, Fallow lands, Degraded Forest, Tank foreshore etc.
3. Urban, semi urban and forest areas the identification of land parcels (unused land having potential of reafforestation) will be done with the help of Remote Sensing and Artificial intelligence
4. GTM employ’s Bottom-up approach in planning, finalisation of targets and planting.
5. The sanctioning of the nursery and planting estimatesfollows a scientific approach as they are specific to Agroclimatic zones unlike on average basis as was done earlier.
6. It’s a community programme/ peoples programme.
7. It uses Digital documentation and a dedicated web portal to monitor all activities from nursery to planting.
8. A robust web portal which has all database of planting sites and nursery details with individual beneficiary details.
9. Involvement of District green committee in decision making and fund transfer within the districts.
10. NGOs, trusts, and other firms are part of this programme which will give wider publicity and community participation.
11. Under GTM geo tagging of all locations taken up for planting will be done for proper follow up and monitoring.
12. Proper handholding of farmer growers will be done enabling timber market linkage.
13. Carbon credit mechanism and its potential to generate income will be linked to plantations.
